Manchester United dreams of Jan Oblak as a replacement for André Onana

André Onana’s underwhelming performance at the start of the season for Manchester United has led the club’s executives to consider replacing him with another goalkeeper. According to Fichajes, Jan Oblak is on the radar of the Red Devils.

After 12 years, Manchester United parted ways with David De Gea at the end of his contract to bring in André Onana from Inter Milan following an impressive season in Serie A and the Champions League.

However, what was expected to be a reliable addition has proven to be quite disappointing thus far.

The former Ajax Amsterdam goalkeeper has delivered subpar performances for Eric Ten Hag’s team, leaving Old Trafford deeply dissatisfied with the Cameroonian’s conduct and considering his replacement.

Manchester United is not ruling out parting ways with Onana and bringing in another goalkeeper in his stead.

According to Fichajes, the Red Devils have a keen interest in Jan Oblak. The Slovenian has been an iconic figure at Atletico Madrid for many years and has earned a reputation as one of the world’s best goalkeepers.

However, this transfer would entail substantial expenses, as the 30-year-old player is under contract until the end of June 2028.
