Manchester City snatches late draw against heroic Arsenal

In a dramatic Premier League clash, Manchester City secured a 2-2 draw against a resilient Arsenal side, despite playing with a numerical advantage for 45 minutes. The highly anticipated encounter between Pep Guardiola’s City and Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal delivered excitement from the start.

City took an early lead when Erling Haaland scored his 100th goal for the club after a clever pass from Savinho, calmly beating goalkeeper David Raya in the 9th minute.

However, the game took a sudden turn in the 21st minute when City’s Rodri was forced off with a knee injury, raising concerns of ligament damage.

Arsenal immediately capitalized on a City defensive lapse, with Riccardo Calafiori equalizing with a brilliant strike into the top corner.

Arsenal then grabbed the lead just before halftime, as Gabriel headed in a corner from Bukayo Saka in added time.

Arsenal’s hopes were dented when Leandro Trossard was sent off, leaving the Gunners to defend their lead with 10 men for the second half.

City dominated possession but struggled to break through Arsenal’s defense, with David Raya making crucial saves.

In stoppage time, John Stones found the back of the net after a deflected shot from Mateo Kovacic, rescuing a point for City in the 100th minute.

The draw keeps Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table, while Arsenal will rue a missed opportunity for a landmark victory at the Etihad.
