Jürgen Klopp takes on new role as honorary ambassador for Liverpool FC foundation

Just two months after leaving Liverpool, Jürgen Klopp has already found a new position.

The German coach, who ended a seven-year tenure with the Reds at the end of the 2023-2024 season, cited exhaustion as his reason for stepping down.

In contrast to Xavi Hernandez, who was eventually dismissed after deciding to stay, Klopp remained firm in his decision and has been without a contract since May. However, his unemployment did not last long.

On Thursday, British media reported that the United States was interested in Klopp for the national team coaching role ahead of the 2026 World Cup, which they will co-host with Mexico.

Despite the enticing challenge, Klopp declined the offer, as reported earlier this Friday.

In a statement released on Friday, Liverpool announced Klopp’s new role as an honorary ambassador for the club’s official charity, the LFC Foundation.

“Jürgen Klopp has accepted the position of honorary ambassador for the LFC Foundation, continuing his commitment to the club’s charity even after his departure as manager,” the statement read.

Expressing his delight at continuing his association with Liverpool in a social capacity, Klopp said, “The LFC Foundation does incredible work within the community, both in the Liverpool region and beyond. I am really proud to continue my work with them and to be named the first honorary ambassador of the LFC Foundation. I look forward to seeing what we can achieve together now that I have more free time.

Klopp’s new role underscores his ongoing dedication to Liverpool and its community, even after his departure from the managerial position.
