Ivory Coast’s Mo Bamba among 32 players preselected for Olympic Qualifiers

In the quest for Olympic qualification, Mo Bamba, the center for the Philadelphia 76ers, finds himself among the 32 players shortlisted by the Ivory Coast national basketball team.

This selection sets the stage for the forthcoming Olympic qualifying tournament scheduled from July 2nd to July 7th in Porto Rico.

Notably, four players plying their trade in the United States will make their debut for the Ivorian national team.

These players include Zoom Diallo, Dioubaté Mouhamed, Basile Traoré, and Quincy Guerrier.

Ranked as the second-best African nation by FIBA, trailing only behind South Sudan, the Ivory Coast is poised to vie for its Olympic berth against formidable opponents in Group B.

The Ivorians will face off against Porto Rico, Italy, and Bahrain in a bid to secure their spot in the 2024 Olympic Games.

It’s worth noting that only the group leader will advance to the prestigious global event.
