Ivory Coast: End of the Road for International Scammer Sangaré Sidiki Boubacar, Placed in Pretrial Detention at MACA

On Wednesday, September 28th, Sangaré Sidiki Boubacar was apprehended at Abidjan airport for a fraud exceeding three billion CFA francs. He used to be the trusted associate of a renowned Burkinabe business operator, Apollinaire Ouedraogo. Sangaré Sidiki Boubacar was placed in pretrial detention on Saturday, October 1st, at Abidjan’s correctional facility.

Over the years, Sangaré Sidiki Boubacar managed to gain Apollinaire Ouedraogo’s trust by using clever words and tactics to deceive him for several years.

As the saying goes, «sooner or later, the thief is caught by the owner». For a long time, Apollinaire Ouedraogo had placed blind faith in Sangaré, even defending him against all adversities.

Recently, with Apollinaire Ouedraogo’s intervention, Burkinabe authorities were called upon to sign an agreement related to the scams committed by the current resident of the Abidjan Correctional Facility (MACA).

It’s worth noting that Sangaré Sidiki Boubacar, a repeat offender, had been incarcerated for fraud on July 24, 2012, and served a 24-month prison sentence. He has once again been convicted of fraud and impersonation.

According to our information, Sangaré Boubacar faces several pending complaints at the courthouse, along with multiple convictions that he has never served time for.

Other sources indicate that several alleged victims of Sangaré turned to the justice system as soon as they learned of his arrest, possibly to file complaints.

This is a developing story worth following.
