Foot/ Luciano Spalletti is named as the new coach of Italy national Team

The Squadra Azzurra have their new coach. Just days after the departure of Roberto Mancini, Luciano Spalletti has been appointed Italy’s new coach.

Spalletti has finally taken over the reins of the Italian national team, having been on a collision course with Antonio Conte. After his spell with Napoli, the 64-year-old coach is now taking on a new challenge with the Italian national team. The FIGC officially announced his arrival on Friday.

“Let’s welcome Spalletti.  The national team needed a great coach and I am delighted that he has accepted the technical direction of the Azzurri. His enthusiasm and expertise will be fundamental to the challenges facing Italy in the months ahead,” said FIGC President Gabriele Gravina. Luciano Spalletti will officially take up his new post on September 1.
