Foot: Messi said that his departure to Miami is “the opposite” of his “arrival in Paris”

Leo Messi stated on Thursday that his departure to Miami this summer is “the opposite” of his move from Barcelona to Paris in 2021.

«As I said, my departure to Paris wasn’t something I wanted; leaving Barcelona wasn’t something I wanted, and it happened, so to speak, overnight», the Argentine said during his first press conference in Florida.

«I had to adapt to a completely different place from where I had lived my whole life, both in terms of the city and in a sporting sense, and it was difficult—contrary to what’s happening to me here right now», said the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner, who has already scored nine goals in six matches with Inter Miami.

«I can tell you that I’m very happy with the decision I made, not only for the game and how things are going at the moment, but also for my family, daily life, the city we appreciate, this new experience, and the reception we’ve received, extraordinary since day one, not only in Miami», he added.

«I’ve played two away matches, and the treatment I’ve received has been wonderful. I’m grateful, happy for the moments I’m experiencing, and especially for being able to continue doing what I’ve loved all my life, playing, and being able to do it with joy», he continued.

Leo Messi mentioned that he wants to make Miami “a reference.” «Winning the title would help a lot. It’s a very young club that hasn’t been around for a long time, and winning our first title would be fantastic for all of us», he added.
