Foot/ League 1 : Paris Saint-Germain demolishes Olympique de Marseille/Mbappe suffered an injury

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) secured a comfortable victory (4-0) over Marseille in Ligue 1, but the win was marred by a suspected ankle injury to star forward Kylian Mbappe.

Mbappe attempted to play on after an early challenge from Leonardo Balerdi but was forced to leave the field before half-time.

His availability for PSG’s upcoming Champions League clash against Newcastle on October 4th is now in doubt.

Paris saint-Germain, eager to return to winning form after their recent defeat to Nice on September 15th, cruised to victory against Marseille.

The goals came from Achraf Hakimi, Randal Kolo Muani, and two from Goncalo Ramos.

This win propelled PSG to third place in the Ligue 1 standings, just two points behind early-season leaders Brest.

The turning point of the match occurred when Morocco full-back Hakimi scored directly from a free-kick.

Hakimi also provided the assist for Muani, who netted his first goal for PSG since his £64.2 million transfer, with an additional £12.2 million in add-ons, from Eintracht Frankfurt earlier in the month.

Ramos, coming on as a substitute for the injured Mbappe, secured the victory with two more goals.

Despite their efforts, Marseille, who recently saw their manager Marcelino resign, missed a chance to equalize when Vitinha’s header hit the crossbar.

This defeat was Marseille’s first in Ligue 1 this season, placing them seventh in the league table, trailing PSG by two points.
