DRC: Judith Suminwa Tuluka’s government is due to go before the National Assembly on 15 June

The suspense comes to an end with the unveiling of the government of the National Sacred Union led by Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Tuluka, a leadership that the Democratic Republic of Congo has witnessed since her appointment on April 1st.

The next step for the Judith Suminwa Tuluka government involves the investiture of her cabinet after the approval of their action plan by the National Assembly.

On its part, the National Assembly is well-prepared for this task. During the plenary session held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, the President of the lower house of parliament, Vital Kamerhe, outlined the schedule of activities for the March session, which will conclude on June 15th.

Notably, this schedule includes the inauguration of the new government of the Republic.

“In accordance with the provisions of Article 115 of the constitution, we are now in the first ordinary session of the year 2024, which ends on June 15th. For the remaining time before the closure of this session, your bureau has developed a schedule of activities that includes the following items: 1. Establishment of parliamentary groups for permanent committees and the committee of sages, 2. Examination and adoption of the budget for the National Assembly for the year 2025, 3. Review and approval of the government’s program followed by its investiture, and finally 4. Review of the requisition of the Prosecutor General near the Court of Cassation for instructions,” revealed Vital Kamerhe during his communication.

Now, the countdown begins for Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Tuluka and her entire team.

Considering the current national issues and the delay in the government’s publication, Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Tuluka must take this deadline into account to accelerate proceedings and present her program before the national representation for approval before officially commencing work.
