Croatia and Italy battle to draw, Spain completes perfect Group stage in Euro 2024

On Monday, the final matches of Group B in Euro 2024 took place. Croatia and Italy, vying for second place, faced off in a highly anticipated match, while Spain, already through, secured a bonus victory.

 

The clash between Croatia and Italy was intense. The first half saw few chances, with Donnarumma and Livakovic making key saves to keep the game goalless.

 

The breakthrough came in the second half when Croatia earned a penalty after an Italian handball. Modric’s initial effort was saved by Donnarumma, but he scored on the rebound in the 55th minute.

 

Italy fought back and, in the dying moments, Zaccagni equalized in the 98th minute, securing Italy’s qualification.

 

In the other match, Spain, assured of finishing top, faced Albania with a heavily rotated squad.

 

Ferran Torres scored the only goal in the 15th minute, giving Spain a perfect record of three wins from three games, setting them up confidently for the knockout stages.
