The revelations of Chancel Mbemba took center stage after an intense clash between Morocco and the Democratic Republic of Congo, which ended in a heated altercation at the final whistle.

Despite the Leopards securing a valuable 1-1 draw against the Lions of the Atlas on Sunday night, the sporting result took a backseat to the post-match incident.

Following the clash in Group F, a general brawl erupted on the field, extending into the locker rooms.

At the heart of the tensions were Moroccan coach Walid Regragui and Congolese central defender and captain Chancel Mbemba.

While the coach sought to downplay the situation in the mixed zone after the match, the same cannot be said for the Marseille player.

Chancel Mbemba, shedding light on the incident, shared that it was a remark from Walid Regragui that ignited the heated exchange. «I respect the coach, who is a great man. Television cut the videos, but I have them. I don’t need to expose them. I keep my silence; it’s better that way. That’s how I am. Everyone knows me; I respect everyone. I don’t need to drag someone, but God’s justice is there. When I play football, I play normally; I’m not a superstar. The WORD he said, the coach himself will say it. He will speak for himself», declared Chancel Mbemba in the mixed zone.

These are serious accusations to which Walid Regragui will undoubtedly have the opportunity to respond.
