Burkina-Faso: When the head of government commits to the diversification of partnerships.

Burkina Faso’s ambition is to develop and abolish terrorism on its own. However, it is technically and financially limited. To this end, the Prime Minister of the Burkinabe transition, Mr Kyélem Apollinaire de Tambèla, in addition to the fight he is waging with the country’s various partners, went to Moscow in Russia this week. In these conditions, this trip is essentially part of the acquisition of war materials (military) by Burkina Faso. For the time being, no official statement has been made, but the Prime Minister’s Office promises to issue a press release on the subject.

Indeed, Burkina Faso is currently in need of military support for the development of its anti-terrorist struggle. Thus, at the beginning of his term of office, the President of the MPSR, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, made it clear that he would keep the previous partners of Burkina Faso, but advocated diversification in their international relations.

This is why, during one of his interviews, the Head of the transitional government, Mr. Kyélem Apollinaire de Tambèla, stated in response to the question involving the support of supporters of the regime of President Ibrahim Traoré for cooperation with Russia and for the departure of the French, that he is ”here for diversification, not for the departure of X or Y”.

Prime Minister Kyélem Apollinaire de Tambèla’s objective is to form a government to regain the full sovereignty of Burkina Faso from the jihadists. And this is the current case, what is needed is the trivialisation of Faso’s partnerships with external countries so that it does not dominate. Going with Russia is an example of diversification of partnerships. However, Faso will not become attached to Russia in order to undermine its interests.
