Burkina Faso: Top of H.E. Olivia ROUAMBA, for the assessment of the activities of the Permanent Secretariat of the National Commission for Francophonie.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Burkinabe Abroad, H.E. Mrs. Olivia ROUAMBA, gave the starting signal for the statutory General Assembly of the Permanent Secretariat of the National Commission for the Francophonie (SP-CNF).

Placed under the theme: “the Bamako Declaration of 03 November 2000 on democracy and human rights and its sanctions regime”, the meeting brings together the focal points of the institutions and ministerial departments and aims to take stock of the activities carried out by the SP-CNF over the last two years.

It is also an opportunity for participants to propose actions that will enable the SP-CNF to fully play its role as an interface between Burkina Faso and the OIF.

In her speech, the Head of the Department of Foreign Affairs indicated that the theme of the General Assembly is timely: “the exercise of democracy is a challenge for many States today, it is appropriate to recall and agree on certain principles so that our States have more peace and stability,” she noted.

H.E. Mrs Olivia ROUAMBA then urged participants to be creative in examining the agenda so that the results of the consultations would strengthen cooperation with the OIF.

The OIF intervenes in Burkina Faso in various fields such as education, training, science, culture, sport, etc.
