Burkina Faso: The President of the Transition, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, has left Ouagadougou today for Saint Petersburg.

The President of the Transition, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, has left Ouagadougou today for Saint Petersburg in northwestern Russia, where the 2nd Summit and Economic and Humanitarian Forum «Russia-Africa» will be held from July 27th to 28th.

Under the theme «For Peace, Security, and Development», the summit will bring together around fifty Heads of State and Government from African countries, gathering around Russian President Vladimir PUTIN, with the aim of establishing a new mutually beneficial partnership between Russia and the continent.

The President’s participation in this meeting is part of strengthening the desired and affirmed cooperation between our country and the Russian Federation in order to find solutions to the ongoing dual security and humanitarian crisis our country has been facing for more than seven years.

 The Saint Petersburg summit and economic and humanitarian forum aim to explore all areas of cooperation, including politics, security, economic relations, science and technology, as well as cultural and humanitarian aspects.

In addition to participating in the summit, the President of the transition, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, will have bilateral exchanges and grant audiences, all within the framework of seeking solutions for the security and development of Burkina Faso.
