Burkina Faso / The fight for reconquest: Burkina Faso’s Defence Forces strike hard

The thick forests of Touba (Gourcy) and Sablogo (Lalgaye) in Burkina Faso were the scene of a fierce battle between the intrepid Security Forces and the terrorists who were trying to sow terror and destruction in the country. In this relentless fight for national security, the brave Defence and Security Forces once again proved their unshakeable determination.

Intelligence information had revealed that terrorists had converged in large numbers on the Touba forest, located in the northern region near Gourcy.

Their intention was to attack the innocent local population and the positions of the fighting forces. But the determination of the Burkina Faso security forces did not waver.

The use of sophisticated aerial resources made it possible to locate these temporary terrorist bases hidden in the heart of the dense forest.

After several targeted strikes, these dens of terror were reduced to ashes, and their occupants neutralised.

A relief for the peaceful citizens who were able to sleep a little more peacefully that night.

But the fight did not stop there. The security forces also targeted the Sablogo forest, near Lalgaye, in the Centre-East region.

Once again, the surgical strikes paid off, wiping out a terrorist base and eliminating several criminals.

Each victory in this relentless fight is another step towards securing the national territory.

Available information suggests that other operations are underway, proving that Burkina Faso’s determination to eradicate the terrorist threat is undiminished.

The country’s brave Defence and Security Forces continue to risk their lives to ensure the safety of their fellow citizens, and their courage is an inspiration to us all.

The fight to regain national territory continues unabated, and the hope remains that, thanks to the determination and sacrifice of these heroes in uniform, Burkina Faso will enjoy a safer and more prosperous future.
