Burkina Faso: The Agency for the Promotion of Community Entrepreneurship (APEC) mobilizes the Central region around popular shareholding for inclusive economic development.

The Agency for the Promotion of Community Entrepreneurship (APEC) held a public conference last Saturday with the aim of communicating and informing the population of the Central region about the challenges and stakes of the Community Entrepreneurship Program through popular shareholding, launched by the Transitional President and Head of State, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE. The main objective of this initiative is to generate widespread support from the population of the Central region for popular shareholding.

During the conference, the Director-General of APEC, Karim TRAORE, highlighted the growing enthusiasm for popular shareholding. He revealed that the agency currently receives approximately 1,000 subscriptions every week, demonstrating strong interest from citizens in this innovative program.

The Community Entrepreneurship Program through popular shareholding aims to encourage the participation of the population in the creation and management of local businesses.

It offers individuals the opportunity to invest in promising entrepreneurial projects by acquiring shares in these enterprises.

By becoming shareholders, citizens can, not only benefit financially from their investment but also actively participate in the economic development of their region.

Popular shareholding has many advantages for communities. It promotes economic autonomy by encouraging local entrepreneurship and creating regional employment opportunities.

Furthermore, it allows citizens to participate in the strategic decision-making of the company, thereby enhancing a sense of ownership and commitment to local development.

The APEC conference also addressed the challenges facing the program. Among them are raising awareness among the population about the benefits of popular shareholding, establishing mechanisms for transparency and governance, and mobilizing the necessary financial resources to support entrepreneurial projects.

Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, in his opening speech, emphasized the importance of popular shareholding in building a strong and inclusive economy.

He encouraged Burkinabe citizens to seize this unique opportunity to invest in their own future and contribute to the prosperity of their community.

The Agency for the Promotion of Community Entrepreneurship (APEC) is actively working to promote popular shareholding in the Central region. With an average of 1,000 subscriptions received each week, it is clear that this initiative is generating increasing interest among the population. Through active citizen participation, popular shareholding has the potential to positively transform the local economy by promoting the creation of sustainable businesses and stimulating economic growth.
