Preparations for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) are underway. The Stallions will travel to France in September to face a formidable opponent, the Lions of the Atlas from Morocco in a friendly match.
Already qualified for the final stages of the AFCON 2023 in Ivory Coast, the Burkinabe national team has begun their preparations. On September 12th, the Stallions will take on the semi-finalists of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. This information was provided by the Royal Moroccan Federation itself.
The match is scheduled to take place at the Bollaert-Delelis Stadium in Lens, France. It is a test match that will allow Hubert Velud’s team to fine-tune their tactics and preparations four months before the start of the AFCON.
Furthermore, the Lions of the Atlas are ranked 13th in the FIFA rankings, while the Burkina Faso Stallions are ranked 55th in the same rankings.
Following the match against Morocco, Burkina Faso will face Eswatini in September as part of the final round of qualifiers for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. This match aims to secure their first-place position in Group B.
