Burkina Faso – Luxembourg / A strong and lasting cooperation between the two countries

In an increasingly interconnected world, international relations play an essential role in the economic and social development of nations. Under the vision of President Ibrahim Traoré, Burkina Faso is committed to diversifying its partners to ensure beneficial cooperation. This commitment is reflected in the actions of H.E. Olivia ROUAMBA, Minister for Foreign Affairs, who embodies this vision with brio.

On 2 October, a meeting took place between H.E. Mrs Olivia ROUAMBA and Mr Moritz KLEIN, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, newly posted to Burkina Faso.

This diplomatic meeting symbolises Luxembourg’s commitment to maintaining and strengthening its cooperative relations with Burkina, which have lasted for 60 years.

During the exchange, Mr Moritz KLEIN expressed his determination to consolidate cooperation between the two countries, particularly in crucial areas such as humanitarian assistance and the fight against climate change.

This prospect of collaboration paves the way for joint projects aimed at improving the living conditions of the people of Burkina Faso while protecting the environment.

A proposal was added to this discussion: the sharing of Luxembourg’s expertise in the field of space conquest.

This cooperation would enable Burkina Faso to strengthen its surveillance of the territory through the use of satellites, a crucial technological advance for national security and resource management.

This diplomatic meeting highlights the way in which Burkina Faso, under the presidency of Ibrahim Traoré, is striving to diversify its partners and create win-win collaborations for the well-being of its people and the advancement of the country.
