Burkina Faso: Imminent launch of the Community Entrepreneurship Program to promote the economic and social development of the country

Community entrepreneurship is an economic development strategy aimed at involving communities in wealth creation. It is with this objective in mind that Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, President of the Transition in Burkina Faso, has established the Agency for the Promotion of Community Entrepreneurship (APEC in French). This agency’s mission is to foster the emergence of community enterprises capable of contributing to the economic and social development of the country.

The Director General of APEC, Karim TRAORE, was received in audience on June 5, 2023, by the Head of State to present the progress made in operationalizing the agency. According to Karim TRAORE, APEC is ready to start its activities, and the official launch of the program is scheduled for Monday, June 12.

During the audience, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE emphasized the importance of accountability and proactivity in implementing this community entrepreneurship program.

He also encouraged APEC to be creative and take initiatives to enrich its program and do things in the interest of the majority of Burkinabes.
