BURKINA FASO: IMMINENT ATTACKS AGAINST SEVERAL CITIES IN BURKINA. A RETALIATION FROM FRANCE TO UNDERMINE MPSR FOR ITS SUPPORT TO NIGER?

According to intelligence sources, mercenaries recruited by French forces are reportedly going to carry out a series of attacks in several cities across the country.

Taking advantage of the moment of inattention due to the fact that attention has been focused on Niger in recent weeks following the coup on July 26, the sponsors of terrorist groups have engaged and trained several terrorists to commit murders and violence against the population in major cities of Burkina Faso, including the capital Ouagadougou.

These are destabilization plots aimed at discrediting the Burkinabe authorities and armed forces, manipulating the population, and inciting riots against Ibrahim Traoré and his government.

This series of attacks in several cities of the country planned by terrorists essentially  constitute a retaliation against the Burkinabe authorities who have refused to enforce sanctions imposed against Niger, but instead have aligned themselves behind their counterparts in Mali to express their support and solidarity towards the Nigerien military junta.

Recall that last week, the military that took power in Niger denounced a destabilization plan orchestrated by France against their country, revealing that French forces unilaterally released terrorist elements from captivity.

These elements participated in a planning meeting for an attack on military positions in the tri-border area between Niger, Burkina Faso, and Mali in western Niger, as stated by the CNSP.

These revelations confirm suspicions of France’s financing and sponsorship of terrorist groups operating in the Sahel.

To what extent will this country go in its attempts to regain control over nations that have chosen the path of sovereignty?

For now, it is crucial for the population to remain vigilant and united behind MPSR in order to thwart the manipulative and divisive machinations devised by France and its local mercenaries.
