Burkina-Faso: Ibrahim Traoré upgrades treatment for VDP

The fight against terrorism is ongoing, and thanks to the commitment of the Defense and Security Forces and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), Burkina Faso can already look forward to brighter days. While the bravery and determination of the VDP in reclaiming territory are now applauded by the Burkinabe people, President Ibrahim Traore continues to inspire them through various initiatives.

Concerned about their well-being, the president had announced an improvement in their conditions, urging civil servants and the public to contribute more effort for the year 2024.

Keeping his word, the president has implemented various measures aimed at enhancing the support for VDP.

The disability allowance for VDP will increase from 1.8 million to 3 million XOF. The monthly salary will rise from 60,000 to 80,000 XOF.

The death benefit will grow from 1 million to 3 million XOF, and burial expenses will increase from 100,000 to 250,000 XOF.

These are among the measures taken by the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traore, for civilians who sacrifice daily alongside the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) to save Burkina Faso from the hands of terrorists.

In addition to these measures, according to a joint decree signed on December 29, 2023, by the ministries responsible for Defense and the Economy, Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) will retain their food allowance of 1,500 XOF per day and medical care expenses of 2,000 XOF per month.

Civil servants will also contribute 1% of their monthly salary, and those with bonuses will give 25%.

Companies are invited to allocate 2% of their annual profits for the national cause.

All these measures are evidence of the recognition of the sacrifices of the VDP, as demonstrated by the president.

President Ibrahim Traore’s leadership is unquestionable, and he is committed to ensuring security and socio-economic development in Burkina Faso.

All Burkinabes, regardless of their background, are encouraged to stand up and follow him on the path of honor, dignity, and the pursuit of peace through decisive action.”
