Burkina Faso: Destabilisation plan, alleged perpetrators and accomplices arrested

In a few days’ time, it will be a year since Captain Ibrahim Traoré took power in Burkina Faso. From the very first hours he took power, the President of the Burkinabe revolution indicated that his action was aimed at reversing the insecurity curve as quickly as possible.

Captain Ibrahim Traoré initiated a number of mechanisms to combat terrorism effectively.

In recent weeks, ill-intentioned individuals have been planning to destabilise the current government.

Thanks to the expertise of the Burkina Faso authorities, these criminals have been caught.

Three soldiers were arrested and brought before an examining magistrate, who indicted them and remanded them in custody on charges of military conspiracy, violation of orders, plotting against State security, criminal conspiracy and endangering the lives of others.

All three admitted taking part in a plan to destabilise the current regime. The names and ranks of the accused soldiers have been disclosed.

They are Warrant Officer Windinmalégdé Kaboré, Staff Sergeant Brice Ismaël Ramdé and former Corporal Sami Dah.

The plan of these soldiers was to identify strategic areas of the city of Ouagadougou and the homes of leading figures in the regime, including Captain Traoré, in order to take action and destabilise the current government.

All Burkinabè with information are urged to contact the Gendarmerie’s Ouagadougou Research Section to shed light on the case.
