Burkina Faso: Air Force aviation training school coming soon

On a visit to an Air Force garrison last Friday, Captain Ibrahim Traoré announced a number of current and future measures to benefit the Air Force. These include the announcement of the creation of an Army Aviation School.

According to President Ibrahim Traoré, the idea is to enable air force personnel to be trained in-house.

The decision of the creation of an Army Aviation school was prompted by the fact that many of the unit’s soldiers were obliged to go abroad for training in their field.

This is very costly for the State. Burkina Faso, however, has the necessary resources to provide this training locally, and thus develop the country’s potential.

In addition to this news, Captain Traoré also hinted that steps are being taken to resolve the various operational problems facing the unit.

Directives have been issued to enable more efficient management of human resources within the air force, the Head of State assured.

The visit to the BA-511 airbase in Ouagadougou is part of the actions undertaken since his arrival in power, as part of the fight to regain national territory.

The Captain was keen to congratulate all the personnel for the considerable efforts they are making in this joint fight on behalf of the FDS and the people, and urged them to show greater commitment to freeing the country from terrorist groups.

«We know that there is no rest, because you are in demand everywhere. This is the place to congratulate you on all the work you do. You intervene everywhere, both on behalf of the FDS and the population», he declared.
