Burkina Faso: Ban on firecrackers during these end-of-year festive periods

In order to preserve the tranquility of all, ensure rest and rest for sick people, young children, and prevent any incident or accident, the Ministry of Commerce prohibits the production, import, sale and possession of firecrackers for entertainment or deafening toys throughout the national territory during the holiday season.It is through a statement made public on Monday, December 19, 2022, that the ministry in charge of trade has informed producers, importers and users, that the import, sale and possession of firecrackers for entertainment otherwise known as explosive toys are strictly prohibited in Burkina Faso.

“It is brought to the attention of producers, importers, sellers and users that the production, import, sale and use of firecrackers for entertainment called explosive toys and falling under tariff heading 3604, in particular 36 04 10 00 00 or 36 04 90 00 00 are strictly prohibited throughout the national territory,” the announcement said.

“No derogation or exception can be opposed,” said the statement which continues: “In any case, any violator of this decision is exposed to sanctions in accordance with the regulations in force.”
