Barça: Vitor Roque’s agent confirms his arrival in January

At a time when La Liga is tightening the reins on financial fair play in Spain, the agent of Vitor Roque, André Curry, has confirmed that his protege will indeed be joining FC Barcelona in January, as previously agreed with Athletico Paranaense.

The Blaugrana club had attempted to bring the young Brazilian forward (18 years old) to Catalonia this summer, as they have only one No. 9 in their squad, Robert Lewandowski, who is already 35 years old and naturally feeling the weight of age.

However, they not only faced Paranaense’s refusal, which demanded that the agreement between the two parties, stipulating a January arrival, be respected, but also the strict financial fair play regulations of La Liga, overseen by Javier Tebas.

While doubts still linger about the possibility of Vitor Roque arrival in the winter transfer window, his agent has put them to rest.

«We believe that in a maximum of four weeks, he will be ready», his agent André Curry stated in regards to his recovery after a serious ankle injury in September, as reported by Mundo Deportivo.

«Both the player and Barcelona’s plan is for him to come in January; everything has been agreed with Paranaense», he added.

This should be reassuring news for Barcelona supporters.
