Africa: Burkina Faso and Mali step up efforts to meet people’s aspirations

Burkina Faso and Mali have embarked on a process of rapprochement in recent months. The governments of Burkina Faso and Mali are working together to pool their efforts and meet the aspirations of their peoples. Initiatives are being taken to this end.

A Malian delegation led by diplomat H.E. Aboulaye Diop paid a working and friendship visit to Ouagadougou.

The visit is part of a drive to strengthen cooperation ties between the two sister countries.

The Malian delegation visited the President of the Burkinabe Revolution, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, to pass on a message from his Malian counterpart, Assimi Goïta.

«Mali and Burkina Faso share common challenges in terms of security, socio-politics and the economy, and this calls for ongoing dialogue»,

said the head of Mali’s diplomatic service.

The two brotherly countries plan to work together on military training for soldiers to combat the scourge of terrorism.

«We have decided to join hands to support our army and move forward», said Mali’s Prime Minister, Choguel Maïga, during his visit to Ouagadougou.
