AFCON 2023 Qualifiers: Tanzania advances, Uganda out

Group F of the 2023 Côte d’Ivoire Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers concluded this Thursday, putting an end to the neck-and-neck battle between neighboring teams Tanzania and Uganda.

Indeed, the Tanzanians managed to secure a draw on Algerian soil (0-0), placing them ahead of Uganda, which defeated Niger (0-2).

Despite their victory, Uganda will not set foot on Ivorian soil. Algeria, set to face Senegal in a friendly match on September 12, finishes at the top of the group with 16 points, a comfortable eight-point lead over Tanzania, who secures the second spot with 8 points.
