A NBA player faces murder charges: Alleged accomplice also arrested

Former Portland Trail Blazers Forward Chance Comanche is now in FBI custody facing murder charges alongside his alleged accomplice, 19-year-old Sakari Harnden. The charges stem from the death of 23-year-old Marayna Rodgers, a medical assistant whose body was discovered in a Henderson, Nevada desert after she was last seen in Las Vegas.

The investigation, initiated when foul play was suspected early on, led to the arrest of Harnden and her boyfriend, Comanche, for their involvement in the kidnapping and disappearance of Rodgers, according to a police statement.

Harnden’s bail has been set at $500,000, while Comanche is scheduled to appear before a judge on Tuesday, December 19.

Comanche, who most recently played for the Stockton Kings in the NBA  G-League, had a brief stint with the Portland Trail Blazers last season, scoring 7 points in a game against the Golden State Warriors.

In the current G-League season, he has been averaging 14 points and 7 rebounds for the Stockton Kings.

In 2018, Comanche underwent a tryout with Partizan Belgrade but was ultimately deemed unfit to join the team, which was coached at the time by Nenad Canak.

The former NBA player’s career has taken a dark turn with these serious legal allegations.
