LeBron James named flag bearer for Team USA at Paris 2024 Olympics

Lebron James has officially been chosen as the flag bearer for the United States at the Paris 2024 Olympics opening ceremony.

The “King” becomes the first male basketball player to be the U.S. flag bearer at the Olympics.

Female basketball players Dawn Staley and Sue Bird had this honor in 2004 and 2021, respectively.

Among LeBron James’s numerous accomplishments, this new honor certainly stands out.

Representing his country on the world’s biggest stage is already a significant achievement, but being the flag bearer elevates his distinction even further.

To recap, the Los Angeles Lakers star has won two Olympic gold medals with Team USA (in 2008 and 2012) and will aim for a third in Paris.

In the NBA, he has secured four championship titles, four Finals MVP titles, and four regular-season MVP titles.

He is also the all-time leading scorer in NBA history (40,474 points) and has been selected for the All-Star Game and the All-NBA Team 20 times.
