Vogue world brings fashion and sports icons together in Paris

Ahead of the Paris Olympics, Vogue World hosted a star-studded event in the French capital, featuring celebrities like Diane Kruger, Marie-Jo Pérec, and Eva Longoria.

The show began with a performance by Aya Nakamura, symbolizing a tribute to France.

Mayor Anne Hidalgo, who supported the event despite pre-Olympic chaos, declared, “We did it!” The evening aimed to spotlight major fashion houses and creators with a celebratory parade.

In front of the Ritz, fashion stars such as Simon Porte Jacquemus, Maria Grazia Chiuri, Olivier Rousteing, and John Galliano gathered.

The guest list included Jared Leto, Alexa Chung, and Lena Situations, seated on blue and gold chairs in Place Vendôme.

Aya Nakamura’s performance in a Jean Paul Gaultier couture dress, accompanied by a symphony orchestra, resonated deeply with the audience amid current political debates in France.

The show featured a meticulously choreographed display of 500 models, dancers, and athletes, representing ten decades of fashion and sport.

Highlights included Chanel dresses from the 1920s alongside French cyclists, Hermès-clad horses, and appearances by sports icons like the Williams sisters.

The finale saw Marie-Jo Pérec in a tricolored gown, linking this event to the forthcoming Olympic opening ceremony.

Vogue World committed to substantial charitable donations, including one million euros to Secours Populaire. This event, similar to a traveling Met Gala, followed previous editions in New York (2022) and London (2023).
