Carlos Alcaraz claims first Roland Garros title in thrilling Five-set battle against Zverev

Carlos Alcaraz Garfia has emerged as the new champion of Roland Garros, clinching his first title in Paris after a five-set thriller against Alexander Zverev.

The 21-year-old Spaniard, hailed as the successor to Rafael Nadal, secured his third Grand Slam title with a scoreline of 6-3, 2-5, 5-7, 6-1, 6-2.

This victory follows his previous Grand Slam wins at the US Open in 2022 and Wimbledon in 2023.

In a match lasting over four hours, Alcaraz demonstrated remarkable resilience, overturning a challenging situation much like his semifinal against Jannik Sinner.

Despite a strong start by Alcaraz, Zverev fought back aggressively, particularly in the second and third sets.

However, Alcaraz’s persistence paid off, ultimately dominating the final sets to claim a historic victory.

Zverev, appearing in his second Grand Slam final, was unable to break his finals curse, once again succumbing in a five-set battle.

Alcaraz’s triumph marks yet another chapter in Spain’s storied legacy at Roland Garros.
