Burkina Faso: 148 suspects arrested, 10 of them terrorists, free Cooperation Between security authorities and the population

In Burkina Faso, the people remain the unwavering support and primary ally of the transitional government led by Captain Ibrahim Traoré in the fight to reclaim national territory. Responding to the call for general mobilization against terrorism, the citizens did not hesitate to rally. Additionally, they have actively heeded calls for cooperation with security authorities to neutralize threats.

This strong collaboration between the transitional authorities and the population reflects the people’s trust in President Ibrahim Traoré and the actions and initiatives taken to ensure the smooth progress of the transition in Burkina Faso

From March 1 to April 30, the Operational Coordination for the Security of Ouagadougou conducted several operations in the Burkinabe capital.

These missions, supervised by the Ministry of Territorial Administration, led to the apprehension of 148 suspects, including 10 for acts of terrorism, and the seizure of 58 weapons.

Several networks involved in robbery, burglary, and armed theft were dismantled, resulting in the seizure of 70 vehicles and 10 tricycles impounded.

Additionally, quantities of Indian hemp, barrels of cyanide, smelting equipment, bags of fine charcoal, and tons of rebar were confiscated.

These operations in Ouagadougou also involved providing aid and assistance to victims.

These achievements were made possible thanks to the continued efforts of the population, who are encouraged to maintain this momentum through the toll-free numbers provided: 16, 17, 1010, 18, and 199.
