Burkina Faso/Internal security: The Burkina Faso Police Force at work as part of its mission to protect people and property

Apart from counterterrorism efforts, security operations aimed at safeguarding individuals, property, and institutions continue within Burkina Faso. Police actions focused on tracking down wrongdoers and criminals across the country have yielded significant results in the first quarter of the year.

According to security sources reported by national media, the regional service of the judicial police in Haut-Bassins, Bobo-Dioulasso, has apprehended a group of dishonest traders engaged in nefarious activities.

These individuals were profiting from the sale of cereals while endangering the health and lives of their fellow citizens.

Their modus operandi involved adding a substantial amount of finely crushed granite and quartz to cereals, particularly sorghum intended for sale in bags.

This unhealthy practice negatively impacts both the economy of customers and the health of direct consumers.

Fortunately, they will be held accountable for their actions by competent authorities.

Another commendable action by the police is related to the recovery of stolen vehicles and their return to the rightful owners.

The municipal police of Ouagadougou, as reported, returned 19 stolen motorcycles to their owners on Friday, April 5, 2024.

This operation was carried out as part of the Identification Analysis Matching Police (IRAPOL) project.

The police of Burkina Faso are fulfilling their core mission of ensuring the protection of individuals and property across the entire territory, safeguarding state institutions, upholding laws, and maintaining peace and public order.

Close collaboration between the population and police services will effectively combat crime and organized criminal activities, contributing to the restoration of peace and stability.
