Burkina-Faso: Ouagadougou asked to support Chad’s candidacy for the managementof ASECNA

The Republic of Chad has put forth its candidacy for the director-general position at the Agency for Aerial Navigation Safety in Africa and Madagascar (ASECNA). Minister of Economy, Planning, and International Cooperation, Mahamat Assouyouti Abakar, led a delegation to meet with Burkina Faso’s President, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, seeking support for Chad’s bid.

Minister Abakar highlighted that Chad’s candidacy for ASECNA primarily aims to benefit the Sahel region, expressing gratitude for President Traoré’s unequivocal support.

The meeting also facilitated the transmission of friendly messages from Chad’s leader, General Mahamat Idriss Itno, to President Traoré.

Additionally, Minister Abakar emphasized Chad’s longstanding support for Burkina Faso’s economic and social development aspirations, reflecting the strong bilateral cooperation and friendship between the two nations nurtured over decades.
