Burkina-Faso: Sahel region/ armed forces repel enemy attack and deal terrorists a heavy blow

In Burkina Faso, the strengthening of the armed forces is undeniable. Patriotic fighters maintain heightened vigilance on the security of property and individuals, particularly in the Sahel region, where they have intensified operations to completely eradicate criminal groups causing terror.

On Monday, January 22, a terrorist group faced a robust response after attacking a Volunteer for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) position in Falagountou, in the province of Séno, in the Sahel region.

The prompt counteroffensive led by the armed forces, mobilizing combat helicopters, succeeded in neutralizing several fleeing terrorists.

According to security authorities reported by the Burkina Faso Information Agency (AIB), a group of terrorists launched an assault on Monday, January 22, against a VDP position in Falangountou around 6 p.m. (UTC).

In a swift response to this attack, the fighting forces forced the assailants to retreat through their courage and determination.

Upon being alerted, aerial assets discreetly followed the criminals to their hideout under Haïni woods, 13km away.

They joined other terrorists who were waiting for them, but the anticipated outcome never occurred.

Surprised by a bomb that landed violently on them, neutralizing a significant number.

Equipped with firepower due to the acquisition of high-performance war materials, the armed forces continue to achieve significant victories on the front, eliminating dozens of terrorists in each operation.

This revives the hope of Burkinabe people, convinced that the end of terrorism is in the near future.
