Burkina Faso: Captain Ibrahim Traoré, architect of the welfare of the Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland

In Burkina Faso, the Volunteers for the Defence of the Fatherland (The VDP) symbolize courage and commitment to national security. These volunteers, often on the front line in the fight against insecurity, deserve special attention in terms of management.

The VDP are voluntary citizens who, out of patriotism, are committed to supporting the security forces in protecting the territory. In order to improve the living conditions of the Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland, Captain Ibrahim Traoré implemented programs and measures.

The adjustments include an increase in the VDP disability premium from 1 million 800 thousand to 3 million FCFA, an increase in the monthly salary from 60 thousand to 80 thousand FCFA, an increase in the death benefit from 1 million to 3 million FCFA, and an increase in burial costs from 100 thousand to 250 thousand FCFA. The Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland will maintain their daily food premium of 1.500 FCFA and medical care costs of 2.000 FCFA per month.

Captain Ibrahim Traoré has also set up continuous training initiatives to strengthen the skills of VDPs and promote their education with a view to a better understanding of safety issues.

Encouraging the Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland, Captain Ibrahim Traoré urged them to fight hard against the most determined terrorists, while promising them a future of their choice at the end of the struggle.
