Togo/Defence and security: President Faure GNASSINGBE hails the determination and bravery of the armed forces

During his annual meeting with various branches of the national army, Togolese President Faure Essozimna GNASSINGBE did not miss the opportunity to commend their bravery and dedication in defense and securing the nation. The meeting took place on Saturday, January 13, in Kara, the northern region of the country.

The Togolese Armed Forces (FAT) were also praised for their professionalism in securing the country.

The Head of State further encouraged them to maintain vigilance, considering the ongoing security threat posed by terrorism, especially in the extreme north of Togo.

The defense and security forces are urged to redouble their efforts, as criminals pursued in Burkina Faso, a neighboring country to Togo, may seek refuge in the northern part of the country to continue threatening the populations of both states.

As the supreme commander of the armed forces, President Faure Essozimna GNASSINGBE reiterated his commitment to consolidating the strategic and operational capacities of the defense and security forces for a successful and accomplished mission.

In alignment with the enlightened vision of the Head of State, officers and non-commissioned officers reaffirmed their commitment to addressing the country’s security challenges.

The Togolese armed forces are ready and determined to work alongside President Faure and his government to consolidate peace, stability, security, and social cohesion, essential elements for all-round development.
