Burkina-Faso: 1% deduction from salaries: people thank civil servants for their patriotic spirit

As the year 2023 comes to a close and 2024 begins, the Burkinabe people are increasingly rallying behind President Ibrahim Traoré’s new initiative to intensify the fight against terrorism. In a crucial year for the country, the Head of State has made significant decisions to hasten the process of reclaiming the entire national territory, including the renewed commitment to the Patriotic Support Fund through a 1% deduction from the salaries of public and private sector employees.

President Traoré, demonstrating his dedication, once again forgoes his salary as Head of State, retaining only his military remuneration.

Complementing this, the government has decided to continue the 5% deduction from the salaries of government members, reinforcing the collective effort to contribute to the peace initiative.

These deductions, earmarked for the Patriotic Support Fund, will play a vital role in supporting the nation’s security and well-being.

The Burkinabe people express their pride in the civil servants who willingly embrace a 1% deduction from their salaries, applauding their patriotic spirit.

Furthermore, they stand in solidarity with the government’s commitment to restoring peace and security, encouraging even more concerted efforts in this direction.

For the civil servants who have accepted this deduction, there is an understanding that such contributions are essential.

As part of the state apparatus, they acknowledge the imperative for sacrifices to be made to ensure peace and security for all.

This 1% deduction, forming part of the Patriotic Support Fund, is seen not just as a financial contribution but as a collective commitment towards enhancing the living conditions of the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) and providing the military with advanced and plentiful war materials.

Ultimately, the overarching goal is to build upon the initiatives started a year ago in the fight against terrorism.
