Ballon d’or ceremony: security concerns loom over Real Madrid’s Ballon d’Or 2023 participation in Paris

The 2023 Ballon d’Or ceremony, players and clubs involved in the event are already making arrangements to descend upon Paris.

However, recent security concerns in the French capital have raised alarm bells, particularly for Real Madrid, which fears a potential terrorist threat.

The recent terrorist attack that claimed the lives of two Swedish fans in Brussels during the match between Belgium’s Red Devils and Sweden has led French authorities to bolster security measures in the northern region, including Lille, which is just 1.5 hours away from the event.

France’s national team, managed by Didier Deschamps, had played a friendly match against Scotland, securing a 4-1 victory the following day.

This heightened state of alert has not only put the entire country on edge but also neighboring Spain.

With less than two weeks remaining until the Ballon d’Or 2023 ceremony on October 30th, the Cadena SER reports that Real Madrid will naturally send its two nominees, Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr, to the event.

However, within the Madrid club’s leadership, there is genuine concern about the terrorist threat.

Currently, it remains uncertain whether any members of the club’s administration will make the trip to the French capital.
