A Beauvais couple served McDonald’s sandwiches at their wedding

A couple in Beauvais, France, made waves with their unique wedding reception plans. They collaborated with the local McDonald’s restaurant in Beauvais-Tillé to provide over 300 sandwiches to their wedding guests, amounting to a bill of over €1,000. The bride announced this surprise meal choice in a video on TikTok, which quickly went viral, amassing over 1.6 million views within 72 hours.

In the video, the 27-year-old groom and 25-year-old bride unveiled the identity of their wedding caterer to their 45 guests: the popular fast-food chain McDonald’s.

The surprise unfolded as a guest dressed in McDonald’s attire entered the venue carrying bags bearing the iconic golden arches logo, creating laughter among the attendees.

Inside those bags were approximately 300 sandwiches, as reported by “Le Parisien”. The bride concluded her speech by echoing McDonald’s famous slogan: «Come as you are»!

The couple explained their choice to the Parisien magazine, emphasizing that their decision was not intended to go viral but was rather a lighthearted choice reflecting their shared love for such meals.

Moreover, they mentioned their constrained budget, stating that if they were going to spend money, they wanted to thoroughly enjoy their special day.

The couple had met with the manager of the Beauvais-Tillé McDonald’s restaurant in March of that year to make arrangements.

According to Le Parisien, the order included various items such as burgers, nuggets, and wraps, with a total cost exceeding €1,000, according to the couple.

This special order led to extra efforts by the restaurant staff to ensure the timely production of over 300 sandwiches.

McDonald’s France even acknowledged and praised the initiative on its TikTok account, jokingly mentioning «nugget weddings».

Interestingly, McDonald’s in Indonesia has been offering wedding menus since the summer of 2023.
