Africa: The Alliance of Sahel States, observers lend their support to sister countries

Guided by a spirit of fraternity, solidarity and friendship, Burkina, Niger and Mali undertake to exercise their national and international sovereignty to the full and to ensure that it is respected. Commitments to strengthen the age-old ties between their peoples. By signing the Sahel States Alliance, the three countries are also determined to defend the national unity and integrity of their respective states.

Over the weekend, Burkina Faso, Niger and Mali signed a charter known as the Liptako-Gourma Charter.

Throught the Sahel States Alliance, the three countries have pledged to fight all forms of terrorism and organised crime in their common area.

Observers welcome this move by the heads of state. For them, this coalition is the solution to various plots of manipulation in the sub-region.

The observers lend their full support to this tripartite alliance. They invite all the populations of these three countries (Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger) to massively support the leaders for a collective victory.

The contracting parties will also work to prevent, manage and settle any armed rebellion or other threat to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of each of the member countries of the Alliance, giving priority to peaceful and diplomatic means and, if necessary, to the use of force to deal with situations where peace and stability are disrupted.
