Burkina-Faso: UCRB ready to support the efforts of the transitional government

Burkina-Faso is undergoing major reforms to ensure its socio-economic development. As part of the social dialogue, the President, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, is holding talks with the various components of society in order to gear his actions to the needs of the population. Following talks with the country’s traders, the President received a delegation from the Union of Road Drivers of Burkina Faso (UCRB).

On the agenda for discussion were the safety of convoys, road harassment and the issue of the collective agreement for road transport.

«We also raised the problem of non-compliance with the revised road transport sector collective agreement of 2020 and the affiliation of truck drivers to the National Social Security Fund (CNSS). We expect the Head of State to support us in this», said UCRB President Rabo.

He also reaffirmed UCRB’s readiness to support the security forces in supplying the population.

The government’s reform of the transport sector involves the construction and rehabilitation of road infrastructure (bus stations, roads, etc.).

All these reforms are designed to support the population and help it to remain resilient in the face of the current challenges.
