Foot/ Juventus: Pogba provisionally suspended for doping
Paul Pogba, the Juventus Turin footballer, is currently under temporary suspension for doping after testing positive for testosterone in September. If the confirmatory test detects the presence of testosterone metabolites, he could face a four-year suspension.
«In acceptance of the instance proposed by the National Anti-doping Prosecutor, it has provided for the provisional suspension of the athlete Paul Labile Pogba», NADO Italia said in a statement
Juventus and Pogba’s agent are awaiting the results of this confirmatory test before making any decisions.
Pogba’s situation adds to what has already been a challenging season for him. He has struggled with a series of injuries that limited him to just ten matches during the 2022-2023 season, even causing him to miss out on the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Additionally, he was involved in an organized extortion attempt, with one of his brothers implicated.
Despite these setbacks, Pogba has expressed his determination to return to the field and play this season.
He stated that these off-field issues have made him stronger, and he is eager to resume his career.
