Football/New twist in the Rubiales case: his mother has reportedly started a hunger strike.
As her son becomes increasingly isolated following his forced kiss on Jenni Hermoso during the World Cup final, Luis Rubiales’ mother has initiated a hunger strike to denounce the «inhumane and bloody hunt» against the president of the Spanish Federation.
According to Marca, Angeles Béjar, Luis Rubiales’ mother, went to the Divina Pastora church in Motril, southern Spain, on Monday morning and began a hunger strike until a solution is found to stop the «inhumane and bloody hunt» against her son, who she believes «does not deserve» what’s happening to him.
Accompanied by her sister, she has stated that she will remain locked in «indefinitely, day and night», until justice is served for Luis Rubiales. Angeles Béjar is convinced that her son “is incapable of harming anyone.”
She doesn’t understand why everyone is being «cruel towards him». She also urges Jenni Hermoso to «tell the truth» and to «maintain the version she had at the beginning of the events».
