Investigation: The professionalism of Ivorian authorities and certain pan-Africanist groups reveals a network destabilizing Mali and Burkina Faso

Burkina Faso and Mali, facing an information war through the dissemination of disinformation (destabilization maneuvers benefiting France), have just witnessed the arrest of an individual suspected to be a key figure in the network. Behind this individual, there are the Twitter account and Telegram channel Gauthier «Pasquet», the Facebook page and WhatsApp group «La Voix du Faso», as well as several other Twitter accounts intended to propagate terrorism to support the dire situation in the Sahel.

The credit for this great achievement goes to the Ivorian authorities, but especially to the professionalism of the Pan-African Group for Commerce and Industry (GPCI) and ANACOM.

“Gauthier Pasquet” is a Twitter avatar presenting himself as a French journalist based in Bamako, known for spreading pro-French disinformation and being against the efforts made by Presidents Assimi Goïta and Ibrahim Traoré to liberate their countries from the terrorist threat.

In this regard, GPCI and ANACOM, working for the development and security progress of African countries, have spared no effort in exposing the «existence of an information war» through their channels to draw the attention of authorities to all individuals behind the manipulations against Bamako and Ouagadougou in favor of France.

As a result, thanks to their efficiency, Ivorian authorities managed to apprehend one of these individuals, living on their territory and suspected to be the administrator of the «Gauthier Pasquet» account. This account has changed names multiple times and was originally associated with an Ivorian NGO.

Furthermore, the “Gauthier Pasquet” account, which used to publish an average of more than twelve (12) tweets per day, suddenly ceased its publications on June 16.

It was the same day when the individual suspected to be its administrator was arrested in Bouaké, Côte d’Ivoire.

Therefore, the involvement of Ivorian and Burkinabe authorities, which led to the arrest of this individual, is commendable.

However, the current question is: who truly benefits from the maneuvers of this information war used by the avatar Gauthier Pasquet? Meanwhile, the fight continues to apprehend any other individuals who have chosen to destabilize the Sahel countries through the dissemination of false information in favor of France, especially considering the security situation experienced by the populations in these regions.
