Burkina Faso: The Burkinabe armed forces once again avoided a terrorist ambush in the Yatenga province

The Burkinabe armed forces have once again achieved success in their fight against terrorism in the Yatenga province, in the Northern region. While a unit of the 12th Commando Infantry Regiment (RIC) was on a reconnaissance mission towards Thiou, a terrorist ambush was thwarted halfway between Ouahigouya and Thiou, in the Yatenga province, Northern region.

The leading elements of the patrol were particularly vigilant, which allowed them to discover the enemy’s setup before they could act. This prompt reaction led to the neutralization of seven terrorists. This terrorist ambush was then, avoided.

« A unit of the 12th Commando Infantry Regiment (RIC) on a reconnaissance mission towards Thiou thwarted an ambush halfway between Ouahigouya and Thiou (Yatenga province, Northern region).

The vigilance of the leading elements of the patrol enabled them to detect the enemy’s setup before it could take action. This led to the foiling of their deadly plan.

In total, seven (07) terrorists were neutralized. Weapons, motorcycles, and radios were also recovered. A sweep operation was subsequently carried out to secure the area.
