Burkina Faso-Morocco/Strengthening cooperation: Start of the 4th Session of the Joint Commission

Work began on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, in Rabat, Morocco, in preparation for the 4th session of the joint cooperation commission between the Kingdom of Morocco and Burkina Faso. The meeting of Moroccan and Burkinabe experts aims to lay the groundwork before the official meeting, which will take place in Dakhla on Friday, June 9, 2023. This meeting is part of the efforts to enhance cooperation between the two countries and will allow experts to review the current state of cooperation before examining new areas of common interest.

The meeting is co-chaired by Ambassador Lamia RADI, Director of African Affairs and head of the Moroccan expert delegation, as well as Ambassador Michel SOMMA, Director General of Bilateral Cooperation and head of the Burkinabe expert delegation.

Discussions between the two parties will last for two days, and the official opening of the 4th session of the joint commission will take place on Friday, June 9, 2023, in Dakhla, under the co-chairmanship of the two Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Nasser BOURITA and Mrs. Olivia Ragnaghnewendé ROUAMBA.

During this session, several cooperation agreements in various fields are expected to be signed by both parties. This cooperation will strengthen the Ouagadougou-Rabat axis for the benefit of both peoples.

Discussions between Moroccan and Burkinabe experts will focus on key areas such as agriculture, health, education, trade, industry, energy, environment, culture, and security.

The cooperation between Morocco and Burkina Faso dates back several decades, and the two countries have already signed several cooperation agreements in areas such as security, agriculture, education, health, and energy.

This cooperation has strengthened the relations between the two countries and fostered the economic and social development of both peoples.

The objective of the 4th session of the joint cooperation commission between Morocco and Burkina Faso is to strengthen this cooperation and develop new areas of common interest.

Moroccan and Burkinabe experts will work together to identify areas where increased cooperation could benefit both countries.
