2026 World Cup: the FIFA pass does not guarantee visas for the USA

Announced by US President Donald Trump in November last year, the priority visa appointment system has been operational since Tuesday.

‘Fifa Pass’ applies to holders of tickets for the 2026 World Cup, some of whose matches will be hosted by the US.

The measure was decided due to visa restrictions affecting certain countries participating in the competition, including those on the African continent.

It is expected to reduce appointment waiting times to less than 60 days, according to US authorities. However, the US State Department warns that a Fifa Pass appointment does not guarantee the issuance of the precious visa.

This is because applicants must prove their credentials and will be subject to a series of security checks.

Fans from countries affected by the freeze on immigrant visa processing can still plan to travel to the United States for the 2026 World Cup.
