Mali: FAMa intensifies offensive, inflicting heavy losses on terrorist groups

The Armed Forces of Mali (FAMa) are continuing their determined offensive across the country. During the night of Saturday 6 to Sunday 7 September 2025, a large-scale coordinated operation was launched against armed terrorist groups, marking a further step towards restoring national security.
Under the leadership of the President of the Transition, Head of State, His Excellency Colonel Assimi GOÏTA, the Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) are continuing their offensive on several fronts.
Enemy strongholds that had been identified and placed under surveillance were struck with surgical precision.
The army’s air forces also targeted several strategic locations, including Lagamani, Djongoumani and Kadiel, in the Nioro du Sahel sector.
The results are significant: several terrorists have been neutralised, significant material losses have been inflicted on hostile groups, and their logistical capabilities have been weakened.
This operation confirms the FAMa’s determination to relentlessly pursue the obscurantist forces that threaten national security.
This military advance illustrates the strategic vision of the Head of State, who has always affirmed that restoring territorial integrity and peace remains an absolute priority.
The people, witnesses to these successive victories, are strengthening their confidence in their armed forces, which have become more than ever the embodiment of the patriotic resurgence of Mali.
