Burkina Faso: The French media, always faithful to their plan of manipulation and disinformation, the case of RFI

French media have consistently targeted the Burkina Faso transitional government under the MPSR (Patriotic Movement for the Safeguard and Restoration) party due to its firm stance against French neocolonialism and Western imperialism.

This comes amid Burkina Faso’s ongoing battle against terrorism, which has been exacerbated by Western geopolitical interests, resulting in significant loss of life.

In the current context of heightened security challenges, the Burkina Faso government has called on all citizens to contribute to national defense.

This includes both voluntary enlistments and compulsory military service. Far from being a punitive measure, the inclusion of civil servants or officials in military duties should be viewed as a patriotic obligation, reflecting a broader commitment to national security rather than a punishment.

French media outlets, however, have been accused of using disinformation and manipulation to undermine the transitional government.

By portraying the Burkinabe authorities as oppressive, these media aim to incite public dissent and legitimize the actions of terrorist groups.

This media manipulation serves the interests of Western powers, which are perceived to be intent on maintaining their influence over Africa.

The media’s tactics are not just a domestic issue but also a global one, designed to shape international perceptions and destabilize Burkina Faso’s sovereignty.

The portrayal of the government’s actions as draconian or unjust is part of a larger strategy to weaken the nation’s resolve and disrupt its progress.

In response to these media attacks, it is vital for the Burkinabe people to remain united and resilient. Supporting the government’s efforts to combat terrorism and defend national sovereignty is crucial in this period of adversity.

Recognizing the manipulative nature of the media’s narrative can help in countering these destabilization attempts.

Burkina Faso’s struggle for sovereignty and security is intertwined with resisting external manipulations and staying committed to national unity.

The Burkinabe must reaffirm their dedication to their nation and support their transitional leaders against external and media-driven pressures aimed at undermining their progress.
